Triathlon Training in Switzerland |
[2010 starts with good resolutions as always. Let's follow my training towards the triathlon season.] Update: it's now 2012 and I race in Geneva! yay! |
Last Saturday as every last Saturday in April the 20km in Lausanne took place, and I was among the lucky participants. I was coming from an unfortunate race last year, when I had to walk at the 16k mark and I finished completely exhausted and broken in 1h39. This year the goal was to stay under the 90min time mark, and to do that I decided to try not to walk, but taking off a bit slower than I would have, on the first flat part, to keep some energies for the uphill and the strong descent at the end.
I have no specific training for the uphill and that is evident from the pace graph. I was anyway able to run well on the final downhill and even to keep a decent pace the terrible last flat kilometers where the legs couldn’t turn anymore.
Final time of 1h25’53” (on my watch 1h25’30”) is decent for this race and for my training and I’m happy to have respected my goal. Today if the weather is nice I’ll try some easy biking and then swimming tonight, my personal trainer put me a time trail on the 1900m and I’ll try to do my best.
